I got one of these. I always wondered who was voting and how they came to such bizzare conclusions. Anyone else get a Reader Resort Survey? Any suggestions, or should I just pick Vail?

brought to you by vail.com

Look through the magazine and carefully count which resort has the highest number of advertisements. Two points awarded for eggregiously false advertising. Then vote accordingly.

Plus, you also have to vote high points to Vail for:

- Steepness
- Snow Quality
- Lift System

Because surely Vail must have been your 1st experience w/ Western skiing and *nothing* could be better than that!

Well I'd vote for Vail, not because I've been there, but because movie stars ski there so it must be the best, not to mention that they have the most acreage of groomed runs.

I filled mine out and although I like Vail, it was not mentioned in my response. Let's say Utah will be more prominent this year if more people voted like me!!

I'm currently taking offers for season passes from any resort looking for that perfect rating. Offers?

Expert Skier: Thinks Vail is the resort of all resorts.
Real Skier: Tells everyone that Vail is the resort of all resorts.

My main / only interest in the ski magazines resort surveys is to make sure that they haven't destroyed the places I like. So far, so good.

I got one again this year. Last year it came in the mail and this year it came via email. I didn't have Vail on my sheet.

I've gotten one for 2 or 3 years. I keep ignoring them, and they keep sending them.

I'd be interested to see an Epic Ski Resort Survey. I suspect our results would skew towards less developed resorts with mega-snow.

Vail is resort code 146

I am truely split between Boston Mills/Brandywine in Ohio for managing to ski this year in spite of the total absence of natural snow; and Perfect North, IN; noteworthy as the only midwest resort to Avalanche in December this year.

We got this too...wonder how we'll vote?

Most of the surveys go to people living in Utah. The Utah skiers always bash the Utah resorts. That way everyone skis at Vail. Besides with $81 lift tickets it's gotta be good!

How anyone can vote for Deer Valley is hard to figure out. The runs there are so crowded. Lets all vote for Mammoth this year - they got all of the snow for sure!
