Marriage help

Please help me decide NOT to buy some 176-cm GS11 skis on sale for $450. Canadian with CR614 bindings. I think they are the 2003-2204 version, due to side cut being 99-64-89. (Says the radius is >21 metres). Beta 4, has beta lobes, red.

I Already own perfectly usable SLALOM skis for making short turns.
I already own perfectly usable SUPER GIANT SLALOM skis for high speed hijinx, but maybe I'm getting soft in my old age and being spoiled by the new shorties, find them pretty demanding concentration-wise.

Tell me these non-race-stock skis are obsolete, too short, really too soft for really high speeds, won't like bombing straight down the hill, etcetera.

Thanks.

Unless you are still racing that sidecut and turn radius is obsolete. Get a cheater GS ski with a 16 meter sidecut for high speed hooligan days. :

Cheers,

Ghost,

Sounds like you need to join the EpicSki 12 step gear withdrawal program. See Phil, he runs it.

I think you are suffering from a dual affliction.
One part ski gear, other part BARGAIN!

Which is it that you really can't resist? Figure that out and you're one step closer to a cure.

That's not even a good deal and they come with the wrong bindings. I can't believe your considering it.

Too much, too old, probably fatigued from years of use in-course.

...or something like that...

Forgot to mention, brand new, still in plastic.

Now, you're in trouble.

They're too short.

What's wrong with CR614s? Soon to be on the unindemnified list?
Thanks, BIGE. Way to appeal to my old-school hard-core values!

You know you want 'em. Come on, buy them. Marriage is overrated.

The CR bindings are lifted which puts you at a silly high standheight when mounted on top of a race plate. It's like stacking a plate on top of a plate with your bindings on top. The Race series bindings are basically the same construction, but without the added lift.
