I bought a pair of goggles at Boulder Ski Deals for my wife that did not fit her helmet. I returned them only to find I was past the 1 week ( I thought it was 2) limit for a refund. They offered me a store credit in the form of a gift card. No problem I thought since I have bought tons of gear over the years and will eventually use the credit. After I got it they informed me that after 1 year they will deduct $1.50 a month from the credit until it is gone. I immeditally informed them that this was a sleazy policy. Before Boulder Ski Deal was bought out by some scummy corporation they never had this kind of policy. I do not advocate boycotting Boulder Ski Deals but I encourage all of you to complain to the manager of any store that has this kind of policy. Not only do they earn interest on your money until you use the credit but they want to take it away from you if you wait to long to use it. Better yet write to your congressman or state representative and encourage them to propose legislature to make it illegal to deduct unused money from gift cards.
