Recent trip to summit county (base just shy of 10,000 ft) had my better half battling with insulin resistance, and constant blood sugar in the stratosphere. After 3 days, she was coping better with doubling insulin dosage but her sugar still climbed through the roof during the night, and there were also sudden episodes of plumetting sugar immediately after insulin. Anyone here with experience and advice on management of high altitude fo type 1 diabetics? Or is this simply a lost cause and she should stay at lower elevation ski areas?
