Hottest Thread Ever?

I've only been a Bear for 1.5 years, but in that time have seen a few "hot" threads - measured by the number of "replies" and "views".

Currently, the "Gaper Sightings" thread, with about 210 replies and almost 6000 takes the trophy as the most subscribed thread on the board.

As I recall, the "Gonzo Banned" thread also elicited a furious, relentless stream of replies.

"What do you Guys Look Like" was also a long-term winner.

Generally, if a thread hits 100 replies or more, it seems to merit Epic "blockbuster" status. More than 200 is rare.

Has any thread inspired enough involvement (interest-outrage-opinions) to garner 300 replies or more?

I'm glad I asked.

In a bajillion years I wouldn't have guessed a thread could have that many replies - and that was only a few weeks ago?

What've I been missing?

The absolute epitome of post count padding, Kitty porn, Monte Python sketch transcripts, many bad jokes, some funny jokes, spicy banter, confusion, and many other flavors of what not.

Sing it with me:

It's the thread that never ends.

It goes on and on my friend.

Some people started posting there not knowing what it was.

And they'll continue posting there forever just because.

It's the thread that never ends.....

For the record; Volantaddicts new signature came from a post he put up in that thread.

Ah, a seminal moment of introspection.

Once the spell-checker is engaged, it'll be perfect!

There was a long thread on names and what they mean.

"What does your handle or tag name mean"

I could easily see that one getting a lot of air time.

People will leap at a chance to share their guiding principles with complete strangers.

The Who is the ultimate thread killer is great. I have enjoyed the humor, candid banter, nonsense, lack of pretense, and the fact that the topic constantly changes. Its like watching most TV. You really don't need to know what happened to understand whats going on and join in. Its been good for at least one laugh a day. I don't think any other thread will challenge the number of posts there.

Do you remember the Charlotte Moats is Hot as Hell thread? 311 posts and finally killed by Uncle Crud. It could return, but I'm not sure it could survive current moderator scrutiny. Talk about HOT!

I, too have found some "chill out" time in that thread.

I take exception to this comment. I aspire to be Charlotte Moats!

There is nothing mean, hateful, or cruel in that thread. I found one lie.... Phil promised a "men of Epic" Calendar. Still waiting!:

Another "hot thread" was the great debate on Atomic Metrons Atomic Metron M:EX vs Metron M11. A simple question led to one of the great all time pissing matches between Highway Star, Atomicman, ssh and Phil. Culminating in a genuinely anti-climatic ski throw-down in November at Killington Highway Star & Flexon Phil GTG. Good stuff. It turns out, bears who ski together, lose the will to fight and feud. Highway Star even got rid of the sig line "Saving Epic from Itself". I thought we would never hear the end of race stock bindings, but things have slowed down lately.
