Well MT Snowbowl will open for its last three days of operation for the year tomorrow morning, and The Bowl just got hit with 7.5 inches of new in the past 24 hours bringing the summit to a season's high of 98.5 inches. I'm quite sad that the season is ending, but it looks like it will go out with a bang.:

I'm working on getting an AT set up together, it could be a great spring in the mountains.

Well thanks for that tidbit, but my resort skiing season will be done after my trip to Big Sky next week, which will include skiing on the 13th, and maybe the 14th. Then it's back to work for the weekend.

Except for the distance, I am sure that Big Sky will be way better than Blacktail.

I am hoping to find someone to drive with me to Fernie, since Big Mountain closes this weekend also, with plenty of snow by the way, but I have to work the next three days, so today was my last day there.

Ouch sorry to hear your season at Big Foggy is over.: Mine at Snowbowl would be done tomorrow, and I'd be working the whole weekend too, if I hadn't put in for leave for the last day.

Ooh, Fernie does sound good too, however I'm pretty poor at this point, and I have a really good chance at getting comped at Big Sky, as well as having a free place to crash overnight. One of my best friends lives and works there.

I plan to drive up and back the same day, since I don't have lodging bucks.

Oof, I can't say I'd relish that prospect, at the beginning of the season I drove back to Missoula from Big Sky after a full day of skiing MLB, it wasn't the ideal capper to the day. How far is Fernie from your parts?

Well as of 11pm, The Bowl has another inch of snow bringing the season high total up top to 99.4 inches, we may get up to a hundred by morning. I'll be there for first chair methinks.:

The Bowl had 12" up top, and there were places where I went in up to my knees. At first (first chair that is) the mountain was exraordinarily beautiful and all had been made level by the dumpage, and some of the best, floatiest, turns of the year were had.

Eventually the tracking out and the rising temperature led to a thorough work-out for anyone left the pistes. It got wicked heavy, big time mashed potatoes, you better charge it if you want to be able to complete that turn! (and so I did)

All in all, a bomber day at The Bowl. The last Friday. : :
