'Can I bum a *** ' !!!!!!
It's been lightyears since I've last heard/seen/used/read it!!!!
I remember the last guy I used it with, a Swede, who knew the American meaning but not the British one.
He was really upset....
We do not have Vanity license plates. The governement has even coded the present version in such a way that's difficult to understand where the car (and the people in it) are from (which region of Italy, I mean)
The reason behind it was to flatten out the bad habit that we have to cling to our own region/village (oftentimes, tourists with cars showing the origing being say, Milan, while having an holyday in Sudtyrol found their car's tyres slashed)...
It's also explained into "The dark heart of Italy", a book by a Brit (living in Italy, I think).
If they'll ever authorize such a thing, I'll go for "BEAR"
or "Nobody"/"Nemo" (latin for Nobody)[ June 11, 2003, 08:26 AM: Message edited by: Matteo ]
