EpicSki Supporter Renewal

Thread Starter
I noticed that my last payment to EpicSki LLC was March 15, 2005. No one is beating down the doors to renew my supporter status, and I was just wondering if Epic has any means to track supporter donations, or if it is an honor system.

I will renew of course, but it appears a single donation could serve for supporter status in perpetuity if no one is checking. How many others have let more than a year pass since renewing? Anyone else willing to confess?

This ought to be a great thread killer, and we havn't even started yet.

Cirque, I have been keeping track of Supporters since Sept. 2004. There are a lot of people like you who have been enjoying Supporter status without notice of any requirement to donate annually to maintain status, which has been the policy since the beginning, according to AC. We have been planning on sending out a note to all supporters who haven't made a donation in the past year. We've just been too busy enjoying ski season and of course asking is always uncomfortable--so please feel free to send another check if it's been a while, we always appreciate it!

Just for those of us who don't pay stuff unless reminded...

It might make sense to just do an annual renewal? Most people join during ski season, I'd guess, so make the annual renewal in around November or so, when people are getting excited about skiing again? That way you wouldn't have to worry much about proration or that kind of BS. Hardly worth it for $20.

Wouldn't need to do any kind of billing system, I'd guess... just a bulk e-mail and a reminder in the Lounge.

I got my email reminder this spring or late winter. Thanks for the reminder but I think I paid before it arrived. Compulsive sort, I guess. Maybe therapy would help!:

I will never get a renewal. I pay a couple of times a year. And it's sometimes more than $20. I realize that I've been the beneficiary of astounding good things here, and I try to give back to the community. (Insert jokes here about my frivolous posts )

Looks like we can use a "Paypal" option...I will bring it up at the next staff meeting.

What happened to it? That's how I've always paid.

I just paid via paypal. Just click on the credit card transaction icon at the Make a Donation link at the bottom of this page for donations.

That takes you to a dialoge where PayPal is an option. I got a receipt and email, so it all works. Actually, the links above should work too. If anything, the Visa Mastercard link above could be changed to a paypall link. Just use a different graphic like this with the same link.

A woodworking forum I participate in uses PayPal and has an option to make a monthly donation. That's what I do there. This can be arranged through PayPal.

I sent another check a couple of weeks back, I just send in money when I think about it. I didn't realize we were supposed to. This site brings to enough joy that I want to help out by sending in money.

Thanks, everyone! We have a Big Surprise coming as a token of our gratitude for your support.

*One thing, if you're a new Supporter and you find your title hasn't changed from Member although you've received acknowledgment from us that your donation was received, please let me know. Sometimes I have to change your setting in the control panel a couple of times before the title sticks.

Nolo,
Just in case no one tells you enough.....You are phenominal!
Nolo, I'll help you. I think I've figured it out.

Also, we will be making some software changes to make this a little more clear to everyone. We're not sure yet exactly how it will work, but as we figure it out, we'll let you know. Thanks, ya'll!

am i mistaken? , can this be set up for automatic renewal like a subscription. i thought it could through paypal
post #20 of 27
Yes, GarryZ, it can. We're working on some tweaks like this, given the integration with the group permissions on the forums. In other words, it would be really nice if your re-uping would automatically update your information here on the site instead of that having to be manual administration work as it is today.

OK, I'm renewing too..I never got any notice so never really thought about it. Sorry.

Nice and worthy work done by all with the few bucks we send your way.

Hey, you could give Cirque some kind of status for his great posts on posting pics. He has raised the quality of posts all through the forum quite a bit.
How about Postmaster General?
Postmaster Extraordinaire?

True, Cirq certainly helped me increase my picture posting, to the dismay of many I'm sure, but for me he helped make posting on the site more fun (and more expediant).

Cirque was responcible for my break through in posting pictures.

He should have some kind of dubious title.

How about Papapoparazzi?

LOL, you guys kill me.
Hey, they made me a "mod squad". How much more damage can you do to a guy?

Thanks, and post any picture questions that come up in the sticky; we'll try to work them out.
