Virus Skis

Has anybody seen or tested anything from Virus. There is currently no distributor in North America, but any one from Europe seen or tested anything from them? They look pretty interesting. They all feature a "no wax" teflon base, I wonder what would happen if you hit a rock, would have to send it back for repairs?

Here is there website: www.virus-snowboards.de

I was thinking of getting a pair, as I like the idea of being the only one in North America to have a pair.

Those Raptors look fun; are all the sidecut numbers accurate?

Since it is really hard to get teflon to stick to anything, even the ski, I wonder how long it would be before the coating just plainly wore off due to abrasion.

Shhhhh, don't let on about these skis . Actually they have VERY limited distribution in the U.S. and my name is on the next pair of Raptor Carving skis that come into the country (they said it will probably be at the beginning of next season). They only produce about 100 pairs of the skis in each of the available sizes. You can probably guess that they're fairly expensive.:

Noodler, what size and how many spots ahead is Phil on that list?
hehe - Phil's on the list too, huh?

Anyhow, 166cm. I've exchanged a few e-mails with Virus during the season to see what the story was with U.S. distribution. Luckily I live in the only state where you can buy them.

Go for it....I am on someone else's list right now for skis.

Well I don't know they're skis but only their boards which are top-notch for carving.
Their base works - as long as your not racing and comparing it to a hot-boxed race ski with the best waxes. You'll get definitely higher speeds than with allround wax in most situations.

Oh - and could you skiers stop buying skis - the demand drives they're snowboard prices up and up.

Frank would never sell you something which doesn't rock!

Price List

I received a price list for Virus skis and snowboards. If Any one is interested, PM me with your email address and I can send it out. I have been trying to attach the list to my post, but I don't know how to.
