For those interested, It was a great weekend at SS..
It rained hard for 5 hours Friday night, ending at 11ish. The left the mountain ungroomed and it froze.
Saturday-cloudy and 60ish. 1/4 inch of ice over snow. I had a great time, some others were complaining about the ice. Ice broke up at 11ish. They had pond skimming---I would have tried it, If you had 1% chance of making it across. No way possible. In fact---if you were able, there was no exit. You would have to jump (is this possible?) out fo the water and up 1.5 feet out of the pond.
Sunday--70s and sun. They groomed
: THis made the snow absorb the heat faster. Got 10+ runs on the flat stuff, before hitting the park for big air--8 times and then finished the day--or season--in the bumps off of KnotBumber...8-9 runs. Love the HW quad. CUPP run--4 times, was the best slope of the day if you wanted to ski flat snow.
