Binding for GS:11 with WC plate?

Thread Starter
Could anyone tell me which bindings fit the atomic gs:11 with the black world cup plate? I heard that the 'race' series from previous seasons work. Can anyone give me more information?
Thanks for your help,
Mike

Yes, they fit the old race bindings, the ones that look like rocketships. The new NEOX bindings do not fit.

Are those bindings hard to come by - in other words shouldI try to pick them up ASAP or would it be fine to wait til just before next season?
Are they still in production at all?
They're not old. They're still the current bindings for all Atomic race skis. From the look of things, they'll be around next season too.

They are still in production for use with the race stock skis...

Very true; I've bought (and sold) multiple pairs on ebay for ~$100.

Use the 1018 (if you are considering that ski you should be anyway)... That is the binding that traditionally is mounted on that plate. In fact i rarely see a black plate without a 1018 on it... Same footprint as the 614, but a better, more durable binding IMO.

How much do you weigh, how tall are you and what is your boot sole length?

the race 6.14 fits that plate perfectly. Unless you are a big horse or weigh alot and have really tiny boots, you really don't need DIN 10-18.

Used 1018 binding

I've got a used 1018 binding that came on a 1022 ski I bought on ebay I can let you have for $50 plus shipping. Its about 4 years old - I ski DIN 8 so I replaced it with a 4-12. PM me if you are interested.

Used 1018 binding part 2

Just be sure you really want to ski on at least DIN 10 - I sure don't.

200lbs, 5'10", 29
I'll use it for racing (trying to get back into it next season after a few years of university...)

You are going to have to make a judgement call here. From the Atomic current DIN chart if i use your weight and boot sole length (I really wanted it in mm) You are at the chart for a type 3 skier at 8.5 a 3+ is 10. (the bigger your boot the lower your DIN)

they have yellow & black Atomic Race 6.14 brand new on Evogear.com for 90.00. that would screw right into your plate.

You could still crank it up to 10 or 11 but if you didn't want to have your din that high 8.5 -10 is still available on that binding. We have numerous pairs of 6.14's and they work fine. $90 bucks is an absolute bargain!

do they have the red/black? or would it look fine with the yellow/black on the red/black gs:11 ski?
*edit - i just went there and can't find any 614 - am I blind or maybe they sold out given that price! Any other good leads on bargain prices?

**edit - ok I found them! they only have the yellow/black - would that look OK on the red/black gs:12? has anyone seen this before? does the combination have a cool contrast or does the wearer look like a crazy bargain hunter?

No one is going to care about the litttle yellow patches on the bindings. For 90 bucks ya can't beat it!

I've seen mismatched colors before, particularly red bindings on yellow skis (the reverse of what you're contemplating). It doesn't look that weird. It makes you look like a clever bargain hunter.

The red bindings on yellow skis don't look bad at all. They even do it the World Cup. I'm not sure about the yellow bindings on red skis, but it will still look better than using the green SX bindings (which I almost did).

Just a little follow-up:
I ended up ordering the 614 bindings from evogear new for $90 and they were extremely friendly and helpful - will definitely keep them in mind for any future purchases.
very reasonable shipping as well.

I highly recommend them - just make sure to check out the tab on their page labelled "Outlet" for bargain prices.
