Ceramic Disc Tune Up

Thread Starter
Just took My Atomic 9.22 for a much needed tune. I've been scared to because of previous screw ups on skis.
Much to my delight the Ceramic disc did a great job & I could select my own bevels.
Thought you ATOMIC owners would like to know the way to go.

I would rather stick with Atomic specified bevels of 1 degree base and 3 degrees side - they work the best on their skis.

JC,
Where did you take your Atomics for the Ceramic Disc tune? I beat up my 10.20's (bought at Norway House in Breck last April) pretty badly in November. They have lots of small to moderate base gouges and some dinged edges and they are badly in need of a tune. I'm in Summit county at least one day of every weekend during the season so I won't have any problem getting them done there.

Thanks,
Bong

PS
Did you stick with VK and Beta's recommendation of 1 base and 3 edge bevel?

I would also like to know which shop you used. I just core shot my BR10.20's right on the edge. Owch! I checked a few shops around Denver but couldn't find one with the "Wintersteiger Ceramic Cup edge finisher" that BetaRacer recommended.

Thanks

Sorry it took so long, the 5-6 10's are killing me.
Rec Sports has the brand new machine. They have been running a "locals" special for $17.50 [half price].
Includes a fairly major tune, weld, grind & wax. Thats cheap. No core shots for that price.
Yes, I did do the 1 & 3. Degree.

If you didn't know it's the shop by Breck. Mtn. Lodge, since the Bell Tower has been mowed over. [behind the brewery]
Hope this helps.

JC,
Thanks for the info, My BR 10.20's will be there this weekend.

If you ever want to make a few turns with a geezer, not much of a bump skier anymore, but I like to play on most anything else, let me know.
