Dont cha' just love it when there ain't a thing in an intro post other than "hello"? So you go to the profile and look for a few details .... just to perhaps develop an affinity for who/what/where.

Favorite hill ...... "k" ..... boy now that tells us a whole lot.

You are right to be wary and guarded ... if it's Klingontown ... expect a hard time.

I meant know about these forums. Not about skiing, I've been skiing for years.
Sorry about the K. thing, I was rushing through to get something down.
Yes, I do know how to write Hiakus, although I don't think I've ever written one that's worthwhile. I do like Yuki's Hiaku.

Riddle me THIS

Fiddler,

To be allowed to play here, you must answer the following riddle:

5 people are skiing at Vail

2 of them are skiers.....

(or something to that effect):

Also, you will not be a "true" member until you have been chastised, and your vocabulary expanded, by Uncle Crud at least once.

Do not presume you know sh*t about skiing before you really read what some of this guys actualy know... It's almost scary sometimes.

Otherwise, from the top of my head :
Demo before you buy, then buy a Metron.
Bode sucks.
Bootfitting can save your life.
Carve. Always. There's no Truth in skiing but in carving.

Devils Fiddle,

Welcome aboard. These will all be really funny to you in about 6-8 months. Just hang around, and have fun.

Right now I have Rossignols, and I love them. I'm still renting boots, my feet are still growing. I'm more than mad about Bode's big failure in the Olympics. I haven't skiied deep powder in a few years, which I find depressing.

-There are many people with different opinions here.
-You don't have to take one person's opinion as the truth.
-Try not to let it bother you if some people are mean.
-Read and learn.
-Have fun.

I wouldn't go that far. I know a few people who snowboard.

This is my first time on this forum, not on any forum.
Thanks for the welcoming!

My spelling correction wasn't meant to be mean.

Welcome. This is a very cool place with a lot of very cool people. Have a question, ask! You'll be amazed at the answers you'll get.

I did'nt take it as mean, sorry if my response implied that. I should start using more smilies.

Come to think of it, I do have a question. Actually, one question and one problem.

The problem is, this year I bought twin tip skis. I've loved them so far, except for the gondola rides where I have to bring them in. I've tried splitting them up, but the skis are wider than my old ones and, they still don't fit.
The question is, who can go faster? Skiers or snowboarders?
Skiers.

Depends on who's chasing them :
