Race Binding Recommendations

I just recently purchased a pair of new Salomon Equipe DH 207cm race skis off eBay (I couldn't pass up the deal). I now need bindings, but I am not sure about what kind of binding the plate requires. I would think they would only take salomon bindings, so I have been looking for a pair of 920 race bindings. Does anybody know if the plate is salomon specific and where I could get a pick up a pair of bindings.

Depends a bit on the vintage of the ski. If it is the black power axe plastic plate, it only takes Salomon bindings. I think (but could be wrong that some earlier DH skis might have had a metal plate which could be drilled for any binding. You could of course make the most of your deal by finding some older vintage sollies with a high DIN. The 900 equipe can be found relatively easily with a 9-14 Din.

If you are a USSA licence holder there was a link in one of their recent e-mails which let you order directly from Salomon at relatively decent prices for the Lab bindings.

Double prolink connecting to black poweraxe plate right? If so, as mentioned Salomon bindings only. Older s900 or 997's will work as well and are probably your best bet if you're budget minded.

USSA pricing on S916/S920 will be about twice what you paid for those skis. You also need the non-ZZ version which I think the warehouse is currently out of anyways.

They have the double prolink, but I am not sure what plate is on it(I haven't received them yet). I was over to the local shop that sells Salomon, and he thinks they would have a gold metal poweraxe plate. I live in Canada, so I can't get the USSA prices. The shop seems to think there will be no problem getting a pair of 914s, but I am not sure on how high I should have the DIN set. I currently ski at DIN setting 10 on my GS skis, so , I was thinking I should get the 916 or 920. Is there anyone out there with a new pair of 916 or 920, that would like to get rid of them?
