Things for Epic members to think about.

We now have one of the all time great on line skiing communities.
The Gatherings and the ESA, have turned into something that is really special.
It seems to me that we are becoming a new type of ski club.
I have a few ideas that just might make our warm and fussy online skiing home a little better. If nothing else it is something to think about in the off season
Try this one on An Epic ski ski team. We seem to have a few members here who are avid ski racers. It would be fun to put together our very own ski team. Of course in the true Epic tradition any skier of any ability would be welcomed. The team could challenge other ski clubs or some other ski team to a match. If nothing else it would be another opportunity for Bears to meet up have some fun and it would give the rest of us a good laugh seeing some of our more stout bears in a speed suit.
ESA seems to be great success. It is my opinion that The ESA is one of the best things to come out of Epic.
We could ad to that success by doing an advanced camp. It might be better just work a Barking Bear discount with one of the big mountain ski training groups that already exists.
I can also see Epic members putting together some discount ski vacation packages for members. Maybe WTFH could find us a package deal for a week somewhere in Europe.
Like I said these are just some thoughts
of course it is up to this community to find it's own direction.

Great Thread!

Great point.
I know, even though I'm new, here, I really
like this board.
Just tonight I got a PM from a brilliant pro whom had a very formative effect on
my own teaching methodology, hadn't spoken with her in 20 years, and thanks to Epic, we're in touch.

Seems like a very good club in the making. Hell- I've traded barbs, here, with aasi instructors whom are forcing me to consider things differently, and that, in itself, is a blessing. Maybe we can all grow from each other.

I hope to meet more of you derelicts. please, pass the holmenkol....

How about a race leage of web forums? Epic vs TGR vs Realskiers vs Paula's Ski Lovers! We could do it in dual GS format.

My fear is that it would look like the Chineese downhill (Bob Barnes could be Harken Banks and Harold would be Rudy )

How about a European ESA? Don't know if the numbers would support it. The Snowheads PSBs and EOSBs have informal instruction but they seem to be a different animal from the instruction-oriented ESA

PSB = Pre Season Bash - Like the Eastern Tuneup

EOSB = End of Season Bash - er, like the Eastern Tuneup at the end of the season. Kind of a Tunedown.

It was awesome!

Just wished I found him earlier (no insult to the other guy before him but that guy ROCKS!!!!)....

31euro per hour for a private... I think a couple of euro more for extra person....

Good cheap food (hey i like Italian!) great coffee.... whle resort is duty free so if you buy your own alcohol you can get spirits at about 7 euro a bottle(litre)

I think the deal from Ireland was about 300 euro per person twin share for flights transfers and accom(twin share)... i payed a single supplement and it was still MUCH cheaper than ESA

I'm going BACK i tell you!
