MC, NJ Conditions?

I haven't been out to the local hole and I know it is closing on Sunday. I can't get out before Sunday night and was wondering if anyone knew how brutal it is out there right now. I would go to Mt Peter instead, but they don't have night skiing. Going to Hunter on Monday (hopefully it will be open and empty!)

I was there this past weekend and it was nearly 70. Good fun tshirt skiing but MANY bare patches, rocks, puddles, etc. Most of the terrible conditions were on south and bear which are closed now. Vernon acutally has a deep base so not much to worry about there. If the temps are above freezing mark then it might not be a solid sheet of ice. You know how it is when it goes from warm to cold that fast!

30 is the high for sunday with snow showers. Hope it isn't too crowded because only the gondola will be running I'm sure. As crappy as it is, I have enjoyed it this year because of it's proximity to NYC. Plus, I got a couple of friends hooked on skiing there this year, so when they go to Hunter or Windham, they think they are living large. Trying to get them to go out to Mammoth with me in late April or May. Then they will have some real fun...

If they still have night skiing at MC, it's in the dark, and likely hazardous....
A 1/4 mile up the road from my humble abode, I see MC from the road, and I have seen NO lights for the past week...
I believe their night skiing is finished.
i know their snow looked horrific as well, this week, and of course, they haven't blown since feb. 28, nor will they be for a long time....
Get up a little earlier, put a little more gas in the car, and go north.....

Wow, you are right. They are closing at 5pm now. I guess that idea is out. I can't go Fri or Sat and I have wife commitments until 3pm on Sun. I guess Monday will have to do. Boss just left town for the next two weeks. Should be interesting... Some snow upstate and Hunter mid-week could be the solution... Now I just have to get someone to play hookey with...

2 words......rock skis

Seriously it's pretty bad, dirty brown snow, LOTS of bare patches. I went to clean out my locker/ return the uniform today and it was pretty dismal. The Cab was closed due to an wind related incident (which was on the local news). Pipeline actually looked like it had good cover though from what I could make out passing by on the road...just a little bare spot at the base of the trail. Like someone just said, fill the tank and go North, unless you have a season pass....not worth the money for the remainder of the season (<3 days).......

I spent the entirety of last winter 2 hours south of you.....
We had mostly sunny days down in Carmel-By-The-Sea, though.

MC was fun this past winter for midweek night skiing but I wouldn't go near it for anything else. Too many crazy snowboarders and just crowds in general. I had a terrible experience actually. One of the dudebros was peeing out of the gondola and i skied through his stream cuz I wasnt paying attention....I flipped out, needless to say. Aside from the people it gets my vote as superior to the poconos although it really cant compare to elk. Haha campgaw. Isnt that like 140ft vertical? How cute!

last year was the best ski season in Tahoe. Squaw closed on May 30 and I was there on openning day as well as closing day. Hope you had a blast also.

I did, just not on snow. skiing (& boarding) was, unfortunately, outta the question.
I did load two race boards and my flexons into the car, though, and my girlfriend loaded her burton. wound up selling my dh board for gas money home in the spring.
another season, for sure.
