Have FunI was going to either Taos or Alta this weekend, but decided on Alta at the last minute due to the greater likelihood of a storm hit there this weekend.
If there is fresh snow, and enough of it, Tresckow is worth a a hike, as is Staufenberg (and anything else off the West Basin Ridge). If you prefer not to hike for turns the Loreley trees can be interesting, not as steep, but plenty of fun and there can still be powder in there a few days after a dump. See if you can hook up with some locals who are taking their skis off for the hike at the top by the ski patrol headquarters, they will be going somewhere interesting for sure and if you can keep up they won't usually mind if you tag along.
Let me know how it goes, I may still try to get out there before closing.
