Salomon Performa CM ski boots

Hi everyone,

I was at Dick's Sporting Goods store the other night and picked up a pair of these Salomon Performa CM boots on clearance. The trouble is I can not find a single review on them, good or bad?. The Salomon web site has models for Performa 4,5,6 and a 2 8 but nothing about a CM model. The box states this CM boot is a 06 model.

Has anyone heard of these boots? Are there any specs or reviews anywhere. Have you heard of them?
No one on Ebay sells them, and not one ski shop I called have heard of them. its very strange......?

Thanks for any help,

This probably belongs in Ski Gear Discussion, My guess is the CM stands for CrossMax. Salomon describes the series for "recreational to advanced skiers" and says the "new Crossmax design, comfortable, forgiving, easy-to-put on. The 1st step to help you to progress in skier X and on piste skiing"

I don't follow Salomon much, but I think Crossmax was promoted in the 04/05 season with a team competition, and a line of skis and boots oriented to new school park and pipe type skiing. Performa series are a recreational budget line well below the Course Spaceframe, Xwave and just under the Ellipse series. Your satisfaction will depend on your expectations for an intermediate boot, ability, and fit. Could be wrong, hopefully one of the salomon guys will contribute.

I looked into this CrossMax style, nothing I saw on-line looks like the boots I purchased.
Thank you very much for the information.

If there is any Salomon dealers out there that could shed any more light on this question I would really appreciate it.

I believe the Performa C? line are rebadged custom boots for specific dealers. The should have the "My Custom Fit" liners.

They are a recreational intermediate to advanced boot.

Performa, Eclipse, Wave

FWIW,
Salomon has Performa for beginner to high intermediate, then the Eclipse series, then the Wave series for advance to expert. I don't see any Crossmax series boots in the REI lately.

See the repsonse from Salomon below. I picked up a pair of the Performa CX's after trying on many boots from mass market retailers and specialty ski shops.

Tom:

The Performa CX boot was a specially made boot for The Sports Authority for
the 2005/06 season:

Performa CX # 785597:
Key Features:
Performa 2nd Generation Construction
Performance Cuff w/ Softex
My Customfit Performance Liner
Micro Alu buckles
Standard 360 degree strap
Single Canting
Flex Index 85
Sizes 22-26.5

This boot is essentially the same in construction and performance as the
Performa 8.0.
