Stowe - Soooo good today

So last week we had powder, Friday we had rain. Today, we had sun, great snow, and big bumps. It was sooo good. The snow wasn't just buttery, it was like the butter when you are making cookies, with the brown sugar mixed in and a little vanilla extract... so tasty. I hope it's as good tomorrow.

Well, winter is back. After rain on Sunday and Monday, and a freexe on Tuesday night, it started snowing. This morning it was great skiing. The non-believers stayed home too, you could ski right onto the Quad all day. I got Probably 1000' vertical of waist deep first tracks at 2:00 PM. I couldn't believe it! To look back up and see nothing but my one track all the way up.... that was a first. Tomorrow should be just as good.

Well then get up here man!

I'm just trying to think who would have been here in your Si School days. 15 years ago you say... So I'm guessing Dave was here, probably Josie (Swiss), Chuck and George (I think they've pretty much been here since Sepp's day). Did you know Peter Ruschp died this summer?

When I first read that you were skiing waist-deep powder at Stowe, I said to myself, "sure, tell me another one" :

...and then, I visited their photo gallery :

a picture(s) is worth a thousand words!

Was that inbounds or OB?

16" as of Weds night at Stowe and more on the way...see you in Pipeline, Riverbend etc, etc...

IMO easily best all around resort in the east when you combine what counts:

Terrain (Steeps/Bumps/OB/long cruisers and GREAT tree skiing)
Natural Snow (make a lot these days too)
Lifts

Epic, you were getting freshies at 2:00 because the rest of us had our fill 3:00. It must have hurt real bad going to line-up after tasting what the mountain had to offer yesterday. calling the snow total 16" is a joke, I had waist deep blower all day!!
Skiing with our K2 rep, his comment after our first tree run "those were my best turns all year!". His comment after our second run "those were my best turns in the east EVER!!". When it's good here it is really, really good.
