Offpiste skiing with rx8 skis

Thread Starter
Is it possible to ski off-piste with fisher rx8 (165) skis? What would be the limitations or things to look out for? I've been invited to an offpiste weekend and it will be my first time away from groomed slopes. My weight is around 180 (82kg).

I've got RX8s but haven't done much off-piste with them. Will depend on your weight and length of skis to some extent, but they don't offer much width (64 i think) under your foot for floatation.

I think it's 66. Shouldn't this question be in one of the Gear forums? I use RX8's and I've had no problem skiing in the trees. I'm really good though, so take that into account ;-).

Seriously, though. People used to ski offpiste on skis with no sidecut and 64 (and less) mm waists. So just suck it up and do it. JMHO.
