Well folks, Oregon has actually gotten a little snow this year. What is stunning is that the snow is light and powdery, barely able to make a snowball! I have been able to ski on the groom and into the soft without a face plant, (new for me) but I have noticed that skiing is different in soft snow. On the groom I can throw the skis around, plant the edge and pretty much do anything I want but when it gets soft and deep I have to be careful to initiate the turn, ride the edge(s) and be very two footed in my skiing or I will do the dance. Is my groom skiing just bad performance or am I learning something new?
