Does anyone know how to identify the bindings which were subject to the recall? I have the red 412's with "Racing" on the toe piece and the 4 position Variozone feature. Is there a serial number or other marking which would identify them? I have come out of the heel a few times in the bumps, which has never happened with my Markers. A little snow on the boot heel may have contributed to this, but I have heard that the heel is where these bindings go bad.
When the boot is out but binding is 'cocked' with heel cup up, the back release lever should move freely. If it doesn't move freely there is a piece in there bent, broken or dislodged. That is a problem binding. For the heel release make sure the forward pressure screw is recessed in the housing by 2mm or so. Factory recommendation says flush with the housing but that's not always enough. Make the adjustment (about two clicks) while the boot is out.
