Vlad was banned? - Page 3

Vlad, Post what you will. Let the masses wonder about your identity. You owe us nothing of the sort.

However, your tagline is in the utmost of Bad Taste and Decorum. I would suggest that you change that and keep some self respect. Seeing that has taken one Bears opinion of you down several notches.
You're missing a point in common decency. Would you like your words, that you may have regretted, repeated over and over by my tagline?

Tacky, vlad, tacky.

Why don't you post this remark of his instead?

The guy's got a lot of knowledge, but honestly, the signal-to-noise ratio in his posts are driving me batty.
Sorry, vlad. I disagree with you. Posting good comments on a tagline is ok, but to post something like this, for everyone to oogle every time you post (and you are a prolific poster), is just bad manners, and something you are obviously proud of.

It's personal, and borders on harrassment. Sorry.. I don't agree with you.

bonni, i could not disagree with you more.
if "MarkXS" actually regretted his post, he'd have edited it already. the fact that his post remians active in the 'acl-nerve damage' thread shows he has no such regret.
again, they're his words, bonni, not mine. take it up with him if you find them so objectionable.
i've been emailed by several bears who informed me that the guy has been sending PMs to them, suggesting they PM the m ods so as to get vlad banned.
why not ask 'MarkXS' if he regrets his post?
wake up and see the bigger picture, bonni....
Vlad, that's NOT part of the bigger picture at all. The bigger picture is that your here, adding to the community. That tag line is his words, not yours, and doesn't represent who you are, your thoughts or ideas. It just makes you seem like your carrying on a grudge match and holding on to garbage. I agree with Bonnie, let it go and find a tag that represents you in a positive way. Be the bigger person and rise above the pettiness, don't get bogged down in it. I'm really not trying to tell you what to do (though it may seem like that ) it's just a suggestion. It really doesn't matter so much what one guy says that you need to carry it around.

Bonni

I see your point, but I see vlad's as well. If nothing else this is an example that when you post something here it has the ability to take on a life of it's own, and have lasting effect. Obviously that lasting effect can serve as either a positive or a negative depending on your point of view.

Nope. No regrets. I am going to edit it to remove further "noise" from that ACL thread, but I stand by the comment.

But welcome back, dude. Now if the length of the content in your posts exceeded your cool new signature tag, then your signal to noise ratio would be just ducky. Signature lines that are shorter than the content are de rigeur on the internet - which of course you know. By the way, I'll be sending you the bill for the royalties for each post using a signature quoting my words. Quoting in a post is Fair Usage under the copyright act; using it as a "sign-off" theme in every post is not. Just getting it ready at my accountant's.

BTW: I didn't send any PMs about you to any members, vlad. I did have a discussion with a moderator, but you know that. Including reporting your vicious email which you sent through EpicSki facilities to me, that included sexist and homophobic comments. Wonder how the EpicSki community would like your attitude towards gays and women, neither of which I am, but which for some reason you thought calling me both would be insulting. I don't believe that either being gay or being a girl is considered to be an insult here. So calling me the "h*m*" word is pretty funny in being another one of your inaccuracies. But if you consider that to be a powerful insult, you're going to piss off a lot more people here. Just wanted your fan club to know your attitudes about both gays and women.

But no PMs to anybody about you, vlad, as disappointing as that may be to you. So when you claim "i've been emailed by several bears who informed me that the guy has been sending PMs to them, suggesting they PM the m ods so as to get vlad banned." either they are lying or you are. I'd guess it would be you. Gee, I'm surprised. :

Like I said before,

"The guy's got a lot of knowledge, but honestly, the signal-to-noise ratio in his posts are driving me batty."

You'd have a lot more cred if you stopped your drive-by shooting of "guess who I am" and "I pumped with Arnie's buddies in the 70's so I know all about conditioning for skiing in the 21st century" and "I know when Volkl and K2 were in bed together" - and stopped being so coy about your credentials.

I don't claim to be an expert on any of this stuff. You claim to be an expert on all of it and more. So quit hiding. Or keep hiding (it's a free internet unless you're in China) but don't expect everyone to drink your kool-aid.

What Mark had posted in now buried in a thread somewhere in the Epic basement and that thread might never see the light of day. For Vlad to put it into his sig for a "Woh is me. I am the victim...look at me...look what was said about me..." is pretty childish." I like attention as much as the next guy, but obviously not as much as some : .

Vlad, you do bring a ton to the table, but it is diminished by these tantrums. When it is against you...'Vengeance in MINE!!!' when you go after someone...'Oh..it's only skiing' :

acknowledged....
isn't vengeance, though- I would think you would have 'gotten it' with the razzberry smileycons I posted around the quote in my sig. No vengeance at all, just a fun way to detoxify the guy's momentary animosity.

Hey, you do have all that good stuff in the snowboard instruction thread, so I figured you're fluent in boarder-ese. Almost makes me want to try riding. Almost...

Still building up those royalty charges on the signature though.

it's not bad enough you're out there saoking it up in god's country, and now I gotta shell out money?

try alpine riding. i'm not trying to take away from freestyle riding (although it's not entirely my cuppa tea)
but alpine is like a really (and I hate to use this word) extreme form of ski-carving.
it also does wonders for a skier's own skiing, when they jump back on skis. really fun, and without all of the attendant dogma of baggy trousers, bandanas, and pseudo-californian speech.

thanks, and, by the way-i double checked. Another bear forwarded me the email you'd sent her.
i'l tone down the longwinded stories and stick with the good stuff

sincere thanks for the addressing of the zaniness at hand.
-vlad.
Actually depending on what word you are using will depend on what language the root "homo" comes from.

Homosexual does not have any historical root to Latin but a combination of greek and latin

the root Homo- in this word Homo means "same" like homogeneous, to be alike. and the Latin "sexus" stating the gender of a person thus somewhere in the 1920's someone coined the word Homo-sexual as someone who shows affection to someone of the same gender

The root homo in the word homo-sapien comes from the Latin in which homo is actually derived from the Latin "humus" meaning earth. and the Latin "sapiens" meaning wise or knowing.. so the romans and greeks took this to mean Earthlings that are wise or knowing.

As far as the signal to noise ratio,

Vlad, you are doing it again.

uh, I disagree. who made you read his post? where is your free will?

1) homo = same, = man.

2) homosexual therefore denoted sex with same gender, and sex with man. biology was pretty sexist back then, it was assumed that men had sex with women.

maybe DC's post was more noise than signal?

I was going to let that one go, as well. the etymology of
homo meaning man is oft-ascribed to homo as in 'same' as in same genus
as the rest of us, subjectively. plus, greek and roman have many similar roots, to say the least.
