Ski Coach Training Tool - Page 2

Went through the web site three times and read some endorsements, all very limited and nothing at all specific that I would remotely qualify as an unbiased test.

Sorry. A cartoon like guy ... "and thus IMPLIES" ..... sorry again .. got too much science in my blood I guess ... I am supposed to "read between lines" and twist vauge inferences to come to a conclusion.

Still not saying it doesn't have a viable place in the ski tool universe.

Just not enough for me to write a check .... BTW .... I still haven't looked at the price. That is a habit I picked up from my job. Evaluate ... then price it out.

Thanks, Yuki. This should spike up my summer business nicely!

I still like the electrode idea... Rick, maybe you could incorporate this kind of training regiment during the summer?

BTW Chris, I'm sure this thing works, but from now on I would make sure who your ambassador is... and check their references regarding their level of credibility. I'm sure you didn't send the guy, but he didn't do you any favors. Starting your own thread was smart.

Later

Please people, don't jump on Chris (he did not deserve the anger management remark). He is being civil and he's used to the protected space on the PMTS forum. Be gentle!

He should go post on TGR.

When it starts to sound like "Skientology" and has the trappings of a religious "cult" where if you question .... you are the fool. L. Harb Hubbard would be proud.

I don't care if Tom Cruise and John Trivolta endorse the thing either.

I'll wait for the review in "Consumer Reports" and the "UL Labs" seal of approval.

They turned off the tap and I don't even like "Kool Aide".

It's okay, you don't want to drink the KoolAid anyway... I took a leak in it before I was removed from the site...

The Kool Aid doesn't taste too bad over there and they changed it after Heluva was Rotated/steered off.

I have bothered to dive into the PMTS thing and have been enriched as a result. I have a different perspective on PMTS and of PSIA. Enough to start a real thread on PMTS vs PSIA.

HH I thought made the comment that the Ski Coach was a good training tool and had credibility, but he had some suggestions on how to make it better??

I also thought he commented on that he had a new training tool in development. What's the hoola hoop around the waist I saw a picture of HH skiing with supposed to simulate?

I love golf training aids, and have bought a bunch of of them to the amusement of my golf buddies.

Some of them I thought were worth while some junk. I wondered with the Coach if you had to achieve a pretty exaggerated shoulder position to get the balls to click?

Nope. Centrifugal force lets the balls move. Tilting the wrong way prevents the balls from moving.

That's a nasty slam. You don't know me and I don't know you. I've never said anything disrespectful about anyone on this or any other forum, and you come out with that kind of a juvenile blast. So 8th grade was your proudest achievement? Grow up or shut up.

I give folks the tips I sincerely feel with help them ski better. I disagree with some advice given, and some folks disagree with the advice I give. OK. I'm always respectful with others. Yuki, Helava, and others think that they can insult anybody but fail to realize that they are just demonstrating the measure of themselves. If you and the other flamers can not be respectful to everyone and treat everyone with courtesty, go ahead and continue your childish digs. You are just showing everyone your true colors and wasting server space.

Thanks very much "Mr. Retired Marine Engineer". I never started out to insult, only question.

The concept is not new .... the use of a ball ... or similiar device to establish a "ready reference" ...

How many hours do you have in an aircraft? See the ball .... see it move .. and if YOU move the RUDDER and AILERONS all nicey, nicey, they provide feedback. Got the concept?

What do you do ... with an engine out??? Fly the ball? .... NO .... that can kill you .... ie bad feedback ..... got the concept?

Every fly a high crosswind approach .... do you fly the ball .... NOPE AGAIN.

Are you even aware of the origins of the phrase "balls to the wall"?

Kinda' funny that the company pres jus happens to show up the next day. Hell it sounds like if I questioned my old Nash, I get a call from George Romney.

Oh! I almost forgot to throw in something about HH too.

Pity .... the device may have some merits too. It sounds like you need to go in for calibration.

Don't ever be critical of Rome and the Pope ...... talk about dogmatic.

Yesterday while skiing (slowly on my local speed-bump), I decided to work on this anti-banking aspect. Not having the benefit of the amazing technologically advanced device I was forced into using my 30-year old Scott ski poles. I faced down the hill and kept them horizontal by placing them between me and the horizon, I then proceeded to carve with as much g-force as I could generate, while keeping the pole and my shoulders horizontal. It worked quite well.

We don't need no schtinking balls-clinking device .
