Farve will, however, also likely retire with the lifetime interception record. When he is off, or doesn't have the right supporting cast, he can lose you a game faster than anyone else.
So just like Farve you never know which Bode is going to show up. But you always know it will be exciting and you always know that he has a chance to win.
By the way, I don't know if anyone noticed but Farve put most of his better seasons together while he was still drinking. So to paraphase Lincoln's oft quoted remark about Grant, "Bode may be a drunk, but if he is then order a barrel of whatever he's drinking for the rest of my skiers."
Too often we forget that athletes are people too, and anybody can have an off season. Let's hope Bode shows the mark of a great one and comes back next year.
Is it just me, or doesn't he kind of look like Favre also?
Bode may not be in the best shape or frame of mind this year, but he did end up 4th overall, (I believe), which is nothing to sneeze at. He also set the record for consecutive WC races, which again, is pretty impressive. It will be interesting to see what happens next year. Does he re-dedicate himself to racing? Or get frustrated at the media frenzy and give up?
