Any opinions on the new Head skis in general, and the ic160 in particular?
|HEAD’s Intelligence Technology, the world’s first electronic ski management system, utilizes our unique Intellifibers, which are designed to generate electricity when they receive vibrations. This electricity is then captured in a circuit where disruptive frequencies are removed. In the Chip System ski, the charge is multiplied seven-fold then returned back into the Intellifibers|
|Because Intelligence generates it’s own electricity the skis are not considered to be in violation of any FIS rules. The rules prohibit any external or supplemental power sources such as batteries, which we certainly are not using.|

Physics Man could you explain how the head skis are supposed to work? Is it marketing hogwash or is legitimate?
It isn't instantly returning seven times the energy. It even says on the website that the chip stores energy so it can discharge it later. What actually happens is every little bump and vibration generates power, then when you turn hard the chip pumps back seven times as much energy as it is receiving. That is how it avoids breaking physics.
