OK, I'll take back everything I said about Julia's tiara.

She has one more medal than Bode in these Olympics.

I'm honestly not trying to be argumentative, but why should she lose the tiara? If it makes her feel good, lucky, fast, cute, whatever, what in the world is wrong with it?

She obviously proved she can "walk the walk", which seemed to be one of the main complaints before today.

If she likes the tiara and her coaches think it's okay, why shouldn't she wear it?

I'm not bashing Bode. I'm bashing the people the think Bode is the entire US Ski Team. Honestly, I am happy the US Ski Team won 2 gold medals and I don't care if it were Bode that won them or someone else.

There are Bode threads ,this is where we are supposed to be happy for the wiiners.
Bash the media that only covers Bode and his bus and where he grew up and his apres ski habits and the color of his underwear etc.........

Why? Because it isn't "about her", it is an international event and she is representing her country.

Why should the Olympics have to look & feel like the X Games?

btw, I didn't notice that she was wearing anything but ski equipment this morning.

Sure, but that helmet had orange in it... flashy orange nonetheless... it's as if she wanted the WHOLE WORLD to look at her. What an embarassment! Plus, what is it with the scarf? She was one of the only women to wear it: another way to distanciate herself from the pack. Not very classy.

I tell you, it's all me, me, me, me with these women.

In all seriousness, congratulations to Julia for a very fine result: she not only won, she won crushing the field in very difficult conditions.

Bravo!

Did she wear the tiara?

If she didn't wear the tiara to victory, does that prove that she skis better without it? Hmmm...or, maybe it was her boots...

Anyway, I was glad to see someone who calls Squaw home win the gold.
