yea. I have ski ploles. they are just like poles, except they are ploles. They become ploles after typing too fast and watching hours of figure skating while waiting for the real sports. my head is going to explode if I see one more triple toe loop axel with a half-gainer twist or whatever the heck these people are doing.....aaarrrgguuugghhhh. They aren't even being judged this time. They are doing it for fun or for torturing people like me. Thank god for TiVo and fast forward.
But anyway, sorry for the rant...yes. I really was going to tape my pole to my hand but I didn't have my duct tape with me. so I left them in the car and after I found out that yes, it was actually possible to ski without them, I continued to do so.
I couldn't even hold a fork for a while after that. but I have a long history of jamming that particular thumb. I've been doing it since i was a kid playing Basketball, but that one time was really bad. I landed (after being run down like a lame squirrel crossing a four lane...early season Killington, if you can believe it.) on my hand, with my fingers pointing up the hill and my thumb pointing down it. It hurt so bad I though I broke the thing off. I swore I was going to take off the glove and tip it upside down, and my thumb would fall out. but it swelled up so much that I wasn't getting my glove off any time soon without alot of pain.
I just lay there in the snow, immobilized with pain. That frikken hurt....Thats one of those times when you find out when somone says "I saw stars..." that that isn't just a saying....
