And me without my camera
I happened to get on a chair with a nice man who was skiing on Elan skis from the late 60's or early 70's
: and metal poles with the old style steering wheel baskets.
I really whished I had my camera because I'd like to have posted a picture on here to see if any one knew the skis or the vintage.
The skis were skinny, skinny, skinny, white with thin red stripes and big heavy metal bindings.
Something I comented to the man was how the tips of skis are wider at the tip now and his seemed to be a bit narrower at the tip. The man skied beautifully!
I now have the skis that my great uncle skied with. Long wooden skis. There is no way I'd try to use them but they are going to look beautiful on the wall of my game room. He recently told me how they used to soak the tips in water and bend them around the wood stove to get the arc bac in the tip. Glad to get these stories while he is still alive.
