I bought my wife the Volkl Gamma 320 as a new leftover...she is slow smooth intermediate...she's been skiing over 30 years....she loves em....(but she still likes the view better)
BTW the tech I got em from (smitty's west warwick RI) suggested them over the first luv and the one love as more suitable for her based on my description of her skiing....Her skiing really took off on them - so much that she is now asking when she is going next....she always just came along for the ride before. She actually picked up the pace quite a bit on the new ski's too which was unexpected....
Can't disagree with you on the AC2 tho....just viewed the Volkl website....why not get the extra float? Show her the specs on www.volkl.com
and ask her what she thinks. I think she'd love the Attiva 4 star too.... 5 star might overwhelm a bit as might the gamma supersport (pink star)
As for picking out her own ski's
I wish.....she'd still be on the Olin Mark IV 160's or the late 80's Rossi STS 170's (her last 2 pairs of ski's) if I didn't just take it upon myself to do the upgrade.....that's just how she is...she thinks of everyone else first before herself. I wanted her to have nice ski's....demo a ski? Fuggetaboutit...would never happen.
