Saw something funny on the way home today

Thread Starter
We skied Windham Mountain over the Presidents weekend. On our way home on the NYS Thruway (I-87) we passed a Toyota Landcruiser with skies on the roof rack. I know that is not funny.....

but there were boots clipped into all the skis!

I tried to take a picture but using a digital camera with a slow shutter speed through a dirty window at dusk doing 70mph did not work out well.

scary! ..

They can afford a Land Cruiser.

And they breed.

Where do you think all of the posts on smelly boots come from?

Now that's a GAPER.

Gaper

Pretty Classic Gaper. You definitely wouldn't want to put those cold dirty, smelly boots into hisLandcruiser it might effect the 4x4 drive system you use on the city streets. ANOTHER. your thread reminds me of something my wife and I saw about 15 yrs ago at Kirkwood. We were stopped at the almost bottom of the back bowl. While standing there we head "SKI" echo across the hill. We looked up and witnessed a single ski come down at mach 8 with a boot in it, I did with much intrepedation go over and retreive the ski and boot, but I really didn't want to look into the b oot for fear of seeing something bloody. About 10 min. later we saw the ultimate gaper coming down the hill on one ski, dragging his sock in the snow. When giving him back his combo ski/boot, he said he took his ski and boot off to check his ankle which hurt. LOVE THE skis and boot in the car rack.

Where else would they put those rentals?

They were just stiffining up the boots for the downhill race....

Were their second pair of ski socks stuck in the top of the boots?

This gives me an idea if the kids start acting up.

I actually saw a lady last week standing on an asphalt sidewalk, in her skis and boots, who was in the process of taking her boots off while they were still in the bndings.

My first thought was: "unbelievable". My 2nd thought was: "I have a hell of a time getting my boots off...period. I'd be a candidate for Americas funniest video if I tried it with my skis on".

Remember...truth is stranger than fiction.

My thoughts exactly. Should work with snowboards too. Just give em their ipods and let em get some bugs in their teeth.

We seem to be running out of space in the car and didn't want to spend the money on a space case. . . seems like a good plan.

Lately, I've been struck with a feeling of being "old", and somewhat sad...I have not seen any skis with boots on a roof rack!!! I've never thought of doing such a thing! Now, I feel somewhat younger again (sort of ), in my many years as being a person, I have not yet seen such a thing!!!

H'mm this give me an idea for a patent. In the boots you buckle in some foam that is attached to tubes that is attached to a little tiny wind generator for both boots. With the car moving the wind generator will generate both heat and circulate air, which will dry the boots by the time you get home. Assuming it is not raining. Of course with a little bit of covering this might even work when it is raining out.

I also like the idea of something new to do with the kids except the fact this might be illegal.

Maybe they left the parking lot with their kids in the boots.

With gas as expensive as it is these days...should you decide to do this be SURE to face them forward and teach them to tuck. (And watch their head if you gas up under one of those service station roofs)
