Sunday at Jiminy

The Sunday before President's day started out in the single digits and warmed up to almost 20 degrees at the base by mid-afternoon. There were fluries in the AM and clearing skies later - no wind. Conditions were not soft, but edgeable on all runs and a few were really quite nice. Good job on the snowmaking guys!

The expected crowds never really appeared, although the parking lots and lodges were full. Longest line on the 6-pack was 5 mins. usually 1-2 mins. No lines at all on any other lift all day long. We started skiing at 9:30 and were done before 4. Must have skied over 20K vertical. All fast, mostly non-stop, high-speed groomers.

When you take into account the fairly steep and cosistent fall lines, the snowmaking, and the decent lift system, I think Jiminy Peak is the best choice for a day trip from Southern CT/ Westchester.

I was there with gang. Worst day of the season! But it was OK. The edges were soft and the firm stuff was edgeable. Icy for sure in spots. Best run was down the terrain park.

Cold as hell. 22* but with the wind chill it felt like 21*. Should have worn l/u.

The place was packed but the line was easy. Singles moved fast and even the other line went fast.

Felt like a cold, late March day.
