I did not say that's what *I* think, I said that's what many veteran skiers will think, and he asked specifically about "veteran skiers."
I like to travel light, a lot of people do. And sibhusky, it sounds like you travel light too. It's all in a fanny pack. People used to laugh at us ladies, always packing more than we need for trips. Now that backpacks are all the rage, it's the men who are packing more than they need.
I have been told that you're not a real skier until I have driven to and from the mountain in ski boots. So, I guess I'm not a real skier. But that doesn't hurt my feelings one bit. It's all a matter of degree.
And it's fine and dandy if you can outski me. I've been on planks for 5 of my 27 years. Money says that I could kick you around a football field, a baseball field, a basketball court, and a boxing ring, but that doesn't make me superior.
With all that being said, I'm glad I choose the Rockies and the Sierras for my ski vacations. If all East Cost 'Ski Veterans' are as negatively judgemental as you appear, I'm glad I'm not supporting your local economies.
