He said he thought about skipping the O'sMonths ago, Bode, and I am paraphrasing, said something to the effect that he thought about skipping the Olympics.
It is really obvious to me at least that Bode is between a rock and a hardplace. He appears to be sick of ski racing, but what else is available to him at this point that will pay as well and allow him to party and ski his way across Europe.
No one even mentions women in these threads. Drinking, bars, staying out late, being the big stud dog WC Champ, and going home alone? Can't imagine that is happening. So now add to the drinking and partying, staying up later for just a bit more fun. That all might have worked when he was younger, but it is not working as well this year. He is getting older.
Now all that being said I don't know Bode, I've never talked to him, and I only follow WC racing at a bare minimum. Maybe my speculation is off base, and this is just one of those times that a gifted racer is having a run of bad luck.
I do think Bode cares, but lets get real, pro atheletes are usually a bit catered to, and the worst parts of immature behavior is always just waiting to pop out. I dont think any of us can imagine how much fun it has been to be Bode. Young, fit, World Champ, rich, and getting driven around Europe skiing and partying. Sounds like fun to me and I am old enough to be Bode's father. Bode blowing up in the Torino Olymipics is really not going to effect any of us one way or the other. As for Bode, he is probably financially set for life. I did however really hope as a fan for him to be standing on the podium two or three times.
