Atomic SX Length

Thread Starter
I'm 5'6" 150lbs male, level 7 skier, demoed the SX7(only SX avaliable) in the 158 last night and had a blast. Very stable at speed, great rebound. Think I'm going to go with the SX9 (ski on ice alot and want the added stiffness). I like short to medium radius turns.

Would the SX9 in the 158 be too short for me??

I would get the SX10 in a 160 cm from Costco http://www.costco.com for $369 with bindings.

That is last year's ski. This year's ski has a different front flex.

SX 10 ROCKS !!!

I've had them since late last season & you'd have to pry them out of my cold dead hands to get them from me !

160 is on target

If you liked the SX7 in a 158cm the SX9 will ski the same but somewhat stronger . Try the 9 in a 166cm , if you ski groomers and hard snow you won't notice alot of difference , it's a great ski.

Very good advise. The SX9 doesn't have the elevated risers which are on the SX10 and 11. If your on alot of hard pack you will really appreciate the difference the risers make. The SX10 also has a tighter turning radious than the SX9.

I ski on 04 SX9s and love them. Very fun. Its like they just want to go fast. I've heard that my SX9s are more comparable to the newer SX10s so i'd go with that advice and seek out a pair of those.
