Wait just a minute now.
I'm not a soccer mom yet
, but I will be in a year or two, when my kid is ready, and I am bored to tears by both the men and
the women sliding around the ice in the most ridiculous outfits since disco. (Worse than disco, maybe? I don't remember anyone in my childhood doing the hustle in what looked like *deep-dark-tan* surgical hose pulled down over their shoes. . .)
In fact, during the 2002 games, a friend and I were in a bar in Winter Park after a day of skiing. Ice skating happened to be on the TV and a couple of guys asked us if we wanted to switch seats so we could watch. Apparently because we wore bras, we couldn't wait to watch a little segment of spinning and spangles. I said, "Uh, no thanks, I prefer ski racing and hockey," and my friend just gave them a dirty look. (She started racing when she was small and has coached.)
So it may be for programmed for some soccer moms. . . but not all of us. Give me a Sleeman's and some hockey (men's, with violence intact) or some full coverage of the downhill any day!
