Snowboarding culture

From the Globe and Mail (Canadian paper) in reference to Hannah Teter:

Quote:
"Gretchen just went out and threw down so hard," she said afterward, leaning back in her chair, fiddling with one of her boots, goofing a bit even in the great moment of triumph. "I just wanted to step up and do my own thing and go as big as possible and totally represent it. . . . I wanted to go get as big as I could and tweak my grabs hard." And not a translator in sight.
Is that how all snowboarders talk these days? I mean, I'm not really all that old, having just finished university recently... but I don't understand half of what that means..

You are out of university?
21, maybe 23?
My 16 year old would consider you
just slighty ancient.
Sorry.

Yeah, they are definitely kids and act like it. Which I find kind of refreshing.

I completely understand that and I have heard sentences from boarders which make no sense to me. The only thing I would think you might not understand is tweaking, which is when the boarder twists her body on a grab for style.
