Man down at Bogus

Sad day for Bogus Basin skiers.

Fast snow and bluebird weather can make for some serious buzzkill.

Sounds like he was pretty decent guy and a regular on the backside. His family seems like a class act also. My heart goes out to them.

My wife and I were riding up the Pine Creek chair just a few minutes after the accident and we saw the victim laid out at the base of a large Ponderosa pine. He was face down in the snow not moving. It didn't look good. During our next lift ride, we saw him surrounded by patrollers, one adminstering CPR. A sad sight that gave us a premonition about the story in the headlines the following day.

It was a beautiful day at Bogus. It's too bad the sport that can be such fine part of life can be deadly too.

Our condolences to his family and friends.
