Where am I? That is what I kept asking myself as the light powder kept hitting my shins and I received the occasional face shot this morning. The small resort of Cataloochee received over a foot of snow in the last two days which is definitely epic by North Carolina standards. I skied with my Rossi Scratch FS and had two great days of skiing. Some wind blown icey areas followed by powder stashes made for much entertainment. Skiers and boarders were face planting particularly today as the fresh (ungroomed) snow hid terrain features. Played in the terrain park and jumped a bunch without incurring any broken bones, so the trip was successful.
