For the sake of those who wish to watch the delayed prime time showings I'll abide. However I will make the comment that I have never been a fan of the delayed "packaged" Olympic broadcasts by our American broadcast networks the past few Olympics. Would much much more like to see live feeds whether that means watching at 3am or 1pm or whatever. The packaged concept is probably fine for subjective events like the ice skating stuff. But for races and such it's lame and crass. Corporate advertising needs to bend to the spirit of traditional Olympic values instead of dictating some commercially crafted container for our premier showcase of athletes.

Dave, it's best to note "spoilers" for anything current, since some folks have to watch by delay anyway due to life impinging on sport...

dave

I fully agree. I wish we could get the live feeds and I would probably watch especially if it wasn't the sanitized version with only the "top ten".

For those who like the drama, I respect that and FYI ... I was on Ski Racing Magazine web as soon as I got up. So I knew.

SPOILER!!!:

I beat my brother in a race to the last piece of pie at supper last night. My fork, knife, and plate are made by Atomic. I'd like to thank God for wanting me to win, and for wanting my brother to lose.

Frankly, my vote is to post them with a "SPOILER" subject line.

And there are live text feeds at the Torino 2006 website, so if you want live and you live in the NBC hell zone, go for it!

Also, FIS-Ski.com has the full-on results lists in PDF format shortly after the race is deemed official by the TD.

But c'mon - a "SPOILER" warning should be more than sufficient.

Agreed,

I used the title here for brevity.

The spoiler in the title and the data in the tread are not a hazard to the viewer.

Cheers,

Michael

And if the "SPOILER" tag doesn't suffice, how 'bout this (ssh - this is reaching out to you):

Create a "Torino Olympic Winter Games" category, and include a warning that spoilers may be contained within. Shouldn't be too difficult, though it adds more cruft to the database.

Baring that, spoiler is the mantra....

Om....
