Yes. Race binding have stiffer springs, if you are at the bottom of the range, you will working against a pretty steep spring curve during the elastic travel of the binding. If you have a low din binding maxed out, the elastic travel will not require as much force to overcome. Basic spring theory applies. In real world use this is very evident. Also, many race bindings don't have upward toe release, and if they do, it takes alot of force.
