Colorado ski shop screws me,what do you think? - Page 2

There is something that has rubbed me the wrong way about this thread from the beginning. It is not the ruined skis. It is not the questionable dealings of a salesperson, or who said what, or who wronged whom. The deal is that the whole point of talking with other skiiers is to help advise them on what's going on. If a shop is good, they deserve the credit. If a shop is bad, they deserve the blame. If a shop is marginal, they deserve to be known for it. Actions are the deal here, and you must stand behind them as a retail establishment here.

I am half tempted just to put the name of the shop (I remember what it was ;-)) in this thread so people can know what's happening, good or bad, but I am going to give the OP a chance to make that post.

The ski shop did make it right in your eyes and that's all that matters, however you should give them credit for doing so. It's entirely possible that this is a good store and the guy was either strapped for some cash and made an uncharacteristic decision, or he was just a new employee that won't be arround very long. Either way the public has a right to know what happened and where. Let people make their own dicisions of whether or not to shop at this shop, but give them the ability to take into account what is going on here and factor that into their decision.

I like your point here. As I said before, to me, shit happens, its just how it is resolved which makes the difference. Obviously I am not going to shop here any more, but someone else's experience could be affected positively by my stand. That is my theory in life, and that is why I don't back down from confrontation. With that said, confrontation is tiresome and takes a lot out of you so I have been trying to avoid it. Just as much as I am pissed off at the guy, I don't want things to snowball because I reveal the shop's name. Regardless of any choice I make, I am going to wait until things are thoroughly resolved to make a decision.
thanks again.

volkl has stock of the Karma. I ordered a pair of mantras earlier this year and got them in 1 week. Don't let him screw you again

thanks, I would think so, they have been a very popular ski for two years now. that would have been a supply issue they would have taken care of after the first season most likely.

A Breckenridge shop screwed me 2 weeks ago -actually my Technica
boot !
After skiing A-Basin the top cuff of my boot fell off into my hand.
A close look showed the 2 screws and a plate had fallen off.

The Racers Edge did a great job finding the parts and putting it back
together. Most impressed. They are highly recomended.

No doubt about it. They rock.
Great source for cycling in the summer too.
