Atomic R:10 boot (2003)

I'm after some info about this boot. Mainly interested in how hard/soft it is, but other info is welcome.

I have been trying a number of boots which didn't fit great (my feet are high-volume around the arch but narrow otherwise). The Atomic R:10 from 2003 is a good fit - though to make it snug I have to buckle up about two-thirds of the maximum. Toes reach to the front, so can't go for a smaller shell.

Background info: I think I'm a level 7 (on the 1-10 scale, not the 1-9). I don't race, I prefer to ski blacks and offpiste, but rarely bottomless powder and no jumps off cliffs. Top speed 35 mph on most days, I guess.

The only other boot that fitted well was the Lange Comp 120, but it's way more expensive ($460 against $320, before custom footbeds).

Thanks!

I bought a pair last year and I have yet to ski on them. I love the fit and I am having custom footbeds put in as we speak. Look on Ebay for a pair. I got them for 199 + shipping in May.

The Lange from last year and Tecnica are close in which foot they fit. It sounds like you have the same style foot as me. I have found Atomic boots not to fit to well. IMO you may want to try and find last years Lange or a Tecnica. I understand it may be hard to find a boot fitter in the UK. Where do plan to do most of your skiing ? May be you can find a good boot fitter there.

You may want to PM Wear The Fox Hat. I'm sure he can help you. I believe he is also from the UK.

Thanks for the info. Max Capacity, I did speak to Fox. Anyway, I ended up buying the boots and getting a custom footbed and now they fit great
