Thank you, Bob Peters! Thank you, Jackson Hole

It's a few days late but I want to say "thanks" to Bob. My friends and I had the pleasure of skiing with Bob. It was our first trip to Jackson Hole (now I get it) and will not be our last.

If anybody else has opportunity, I would take advantage of skiing not only with a terrific athlete, but a genuinely good guy as well.

Jackson hole.... what a mountain.

While you were out:
Alanis Morrisette's lawyers called about your thread title...

hmmmm.... I'm not getting it. A little illumination would be good here.

Hmmm.

I'm too dense to get the reference. Might be because I'm not much of a music fan?

It does, however, remind me of a real groaner of an old joke:

********************************

A man walking down the sidewalk pokes his head into a barber shop.

"Bob Peters in here?" he asks the barber.

"Nope" the barber replies. "We only do shaves and haircuts."

*********************************

Also...

MAGNOE, thanks for the note. I had a great time with you guys. You're all really good skiers and it was a pleasure. Come back again.

Bob,

At least I got your joke. I'll let someone else explain Alanis.

We're planning on making Jackson Hole an annual trip now so we'll look forward to skiing with you in the future

I'm guessing you nailed it on the head there. I'm a lyricist and didn't even know it.

I assumed it was intentional. Much funneir that way - not as funny as the barber joke, though.

#2 on the charts, 1998. The video featured a naked Alanis. (Thank you, some lyrics site...)

ALANIS MORISSETTE LYRICS

"Thank U"

how bout getting off these antibiotics
how bout stopping eating when I'm full up
how bout them transparent dangling carrots
how bout that ever elusive kudo

thank you india
thank you terror
thank you disillusionment
thank you frailty
thank you consequence
thank you thank you silence

how bout me not blaming you for everything
how bout me enjoying the moment for once
how bout how good it feels to finally forgive you
how bout grieving it all one at a time

thank you india
thank you terror
thank you disillusionment
thank you frailty
thank you consequence
thank you thank you silence

the moment I let go of it was the moment
I got more than I could handle
the moment I jumped off of it
was the moment I touched down

how bout no longer being masochistic
how bout remembering your divinity
how bout unabashedly bawling your eyes out
how bout not equating death with stopping

thank you india
thank you providence
thank you disillusionment
thank you nothingness
thank you clarity
thank you thank you silence

Patrick Corcoran and I also thank Bob Peters for the 2 hours Saturday Jan. 28 when it was dumping like crazy and you could hardly see, but he kept us in the pow near the trees the whole time.

Us too!!!

Hey Bob,

Thanks for a WONDERFUL 2 days. We skied ALOT of cool stuff including Endless Couloir, (Lower) Mile Long Couloir, and Zero G Couloir. We even found 3 powder turns yesterday after a long time without snow. I'm still debating if they were worth it or not (they were.)

Bob ROCKS!!!

It was definitely my pleasure.

We had blue skies, COLD temps, and perfect snow for getting out and hitting some of the steeper things around.

Some photos of Lonnie and Mrs. Lonnie over the last couple of days:

Laure in Hanging Snowfield.

Lonnie in Mile Long Couloir, Grand Teton National Park.

A full-view shot of Space Walk Couloir just outside the boundary of Rendezvous Bowl at Jackson Hole. Space Walk is the one that has its exit in the right center of the botom of this photo.

Laure working through the crux of Space Walk.

Lonnie in the lower section of Space Walk.

Laure looking back up at Space Walk.

Lonnie coming over the roller in middle Rock Springs Bowl.

And Laure making smoooooooooth turns into lower Rock Springs.
