just watched ski joring this weekend at the winter carnival, slalom racers hauled around an icy course (gates, jumps) by guys and gals on! They get up to 40mph (and it looks it) but m anaging that rope looks hairy - if it gets caught around your leg you're like a roped calf going to the fire! But it apparently big up here (had only seen it at the steamboat winter carnivalwhen they just drag little kids down main street) but this is the real thing and it is very impressive. I have horses and am thinking about it for next year! so many variables - the horse, the rope, the speed, the rider, the gates, the jumps:
fun to watch anyway, they had a medic and vet right there, and a horsie ambulance, didn't see one for the people...
