Advise from the champ!
Great attitude freeskinow and uncle crud and everybody else
. One more thing she said was:
- I try to aim at the gate with my inside knee!!! (Ill edit that back to my original post)
What makes information like this so cool is that those guys and gals are working on the exact same things as we mere mortals. I picked up racing at local master level this winter and have been focusing on this exact issue; hitting the gates with my inside leg. Great feeling to hear the pros actively focusing at that precise same thing.
I have access to swedish tv and I can watch the runs live with interviews straight after the run. They look at their runs from video together with a ski expert commentator and give comments to what they consider important. Great consept! And very educational.
Uncle crud, I too whent to our local hill today after watching the first run and started to work on SL turns based on Anjas pointers:
- straighter line... more jabbed turns
- short pressure... consentrate on creating pressure on the jabb
- aim for gates with inside knee.... make my inside leg active and apply high edge angles to inside ski as well.
Disclamer.... Anja did not make it through the second run
.... Janica Kostelic finnished first!
