Look and Rossi both released the pivot heel in freeride versions, named the Jib and Scratch respectively. They came with no lift and were lighter than the standard pivot. If you're going with Look or Rossi, look for those.
The 912 wil not be that much better than the 810s save for the (slightly) higher DIN, which doesnt even really solve the problem... I've got my 810s cranked with the wings adjusted correctly and whatnot and I can stil twist my foot out of them after a day of skiing, as tough use and hard landings cause the wing adjustment screw to back out of the toe.
Salomon bindings are best left to nonhardcore (softcore?) use that doesn't put a whole lot of stress on the binding.
