I have an older helmet camera system that I have used for skiing and mountain biking. It provides some cool footage especially in tight areas like trees. It is also nice for filming other skiers/riders. Don't overlook pointing the camera backward and having a buddy follow you. I haven't used mine in over a year. It is a pain to operate, especially on cold days. Then you end up with tons of footage to edit down. My hard drive is full of partially complete editing projects. I think the new systems are much easier to operate and much lighter than my system. It is a fun addition to a day of skiing at times, but it is an activity in itself. If you want to do video work, commit some time to it. If you just want to ski, leave it at home. TSA is a pain with video systems.
