I am NOT saying they are inferior. But somehow, it seems Volkls are more prevalent than they used to be, and that they are on more intermediate skiers' feet than they used to be. Perhaps the K2 relationship has been good for Volkl. I'd just be concerned about the K2-ification of Volkl skis.
The Stormrider DP will give you the same feel as your V-ex. Also, probably higher quality (hand-made) than Volkls.
