Rick, What Have You Done
Well I'm glad I was off working with a group of racers on how to CARVE their skis, Pivot their skis, track analysis, edge control, subtle movements of the feet (picking up the toes in one foot, flattening the toes of the other) and how it affects edge control at speed, heck, even throw in a quick wedge going into the lift line (we did a lot more, my only point was that I missed the explosion of this thread while I was out skiing with a bunch of racers, bummer).
I sure missed a lot and I must say some of this sounds strangely reminiscent of another thread with a single voice that would not, could not see the forest for the trees.
But every good thread needs a foil, right?
I did like the Sample Group = 1 bit, that was really good
I also thought the two different definitions for the same thing in the PSIA ATM is a HOOT! Was that SI that discovered that? Man, you've got a lot of time on your hands but good work! That sure did add to the confusion, heh, heh, heh.
It seems that every time a thread like this starts someone needs to say "Wait, let's get our nomenclature set, I'll do the glossary", then everyone can argue about the definitions, get that ironed out and move on to talking about their kids, or if wedge turns will be the down fall of the future of skiing,,,,
RICK WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? You've created a monster
Where will it morph next? Will THIS be the mother of all technical threads (and with such an inauspicious beginning)? Its certainly has the momentum,,,
I'm back on the outside looking in,,,,, A great place to be
